The Design:

The 2024 Gold Dragon design captures the mystique of this creature, portraying it with a twisted body, long tail, and sharp paws amidst waves and fog. Adjacent to the Dragon’s muzzle on the right side, a corresponding Chinese symbol and the inscription “DRAGON 2024” are displayed, while on the left, the “P125” signifies the Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.

The reverse side presents Queen Elizabeth II in a right-profile bust wearing the State Diadem crown, as envisioned by artist Jody Clark in 1995. Encircling Her Majesty’s effigy are inscriptions reading “ELIZABETH II,” “1952-2022,” and “AUSTRALIA” on the top, with “1/2 oz 9999 Au” and “50 DOLLARS” on the bottom rim.
