To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the American Eagles, the U.S. Mint introduced new designs in mid-2021, marking the debut of the highly sought-after inaugural issue of these iconic coins.

The U.S. Mint does not sell its bullion coins directly to the public. However, a select group of authorized dealers can purchase all four precious metals from the U.S. Mint, allowing them to offer these American Eagle products directly to customers.

In 2020, the U.S. Mint revealed the new reverse design for the 2021 Silver Eagles, introduced to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the program. The redesigned coins debuted mid-year 2021, with a fresh design by AIP Designer Emily Damstra, sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Michael Gaudioso. The new design features a single eagle descending to land, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to its nest.
